  • Your 100 Day Prayer

Your 100 Day Prayer by John I. Snyder, was an easy to follow devotional. Most of the entries are fairly short and can be completed in about 10 minutes. There is no reason why you cannot accomplish this in the morning or the evening. I liked to start my day with one, meditate on it through the rest of the day, journal about it and as an evening prayer, do another one and meditate on it and journal about it. Each entry has a Bible verse and short little meditation devotional that is based off the verse. It is a nice way to help incorporate the verse into your life and the readings help visualize every day experiences, helping you to understand that everything is done in God's plan. This was a nice way to have prayer time and conversation with God.

  • 1000 days

1000 Days: the Ministry of Christ by Jonathan Falwell was a great read during the Lenten Season. It was easy to read a chapter a night for 15 nights leading up to Holy Week. Each chapter is broken up into two parts. The book combines in a beginning chapter the first 30 years of Christ. Each chapter after that is dedicated to events in Jesus’ life during his three years in ministry. The beginning of each chapter starts with a story of a follower of Christ. It helps introduce the story of Jesus that will be discussed. Then it moves on to the story that will be discussed that relates to the events in Jesus’ life. The conclusion of each chapter correlates to how we can relate what Jesus wants us to learn into our own lives. There are also a couple questions at the end of each chapter for reflection on the chapter and how you can incorporate it into your life. There is also a  Bible Study at the end of the book that can be used with Small Groups. I believe that the book is great for anyone who is an nonbeliever, a growing, new Christian, or even those that are mature in their faith. It follows a simple outline where people can live out Jesus’ life along side him and experience the places he walked and people he talked to.

  • God's Love Letters

What a wonderful way to wake up each morning. A refreshing reminder that God loves me and has chosen me as one of his own. I have been going through a lot of emotional turmoil over the past few months and this was a great way to remind me that I am loved. Even when I feel like this world is always against me, there is always my Father in Heaven that has His arm around me. It was a great journey over the past 40 days using this book as a morning devotional. A great way to start the day and reflect on the things that have been given to me. It was also a great way to see the stories woven in the Bible come to life and be reminded that I am not much different than those people in ancient times. God placed His hand on them and He places His hand on my shoulder as well. If you are feeling unloved, I recommend reading this book and starting a journey with God.

  • The Little Red Book of Wisdom

The Little Red Book of Wisdom by Mark DeMoss is a wonderful little book with twenty-three short chapters. Each chapter is a story about different issues that people face in life. The stories range from how a person can live their life in the short time while they are here, getting out of your comfort zone, to listening more than you speak. It helps a person understand certain things going on in their life a little more. I decided to do this book as a daily devotional for the twenty-three days. I prayed and learned more about what God was showing me in the stories from other people in this book and how I can apply it to my life in the experiences I will encounter.

  • Every Single Woman's Battle

As a single Christian woman, so much of this life is put in my path. I'm tempted on a daily basis. I have thoughts that I know I shouldn't, and yet I think them and sometimes let them pass by without a care in the world. I feel things that I shouldn't; desires of the mind and body. It's hard sometimes when you really want something that you see another woman have. And the past few weeks have just been that. I will be turning 30 soon, and I want a family so, so very much. I have desirous, sexual feelings on occasion and I don't know how to control my emotions. But by reading this devotional, it's helped me open my heart and learn to turn to God when I start having feelings that I don't know what to do with. I understand them a little more too. It's not an easy road, but I know that God has a plan for me, somewhere, somehow. And I need to learn to trust it and keep my eyes on Him to keep from straying to the other side.
